L’Intelligent d’Abidjan a joint lundi 14 octobre 2019, aux environs de 13:15 minutes, l’hôtel le Palace à Barcelone. Après des échanges avec le standard dans un Espagnol de fortune, une dame parlant correctement le français a pris le combiné.
Suite à notre requête en vue d’en savoir davantage sur les révélations de Guillaume Soro, la dame présentée comme chargé de la communication de l’hôtel dans un appel précédent , a répondu : « Monsieur, nous sommes un établissement privé. Nos clients sont des personnes privées, et nous ne pouvons pas vous dire qui a séjourné ou pas, ici ».
Nous insistons pour dire que l’entourage de Monsieur Soro a publié une copie de facture attribuée à l’hôtel le Palace à Barcelone , pour attester de son séjour, mais la dame persiste et signe : « Nous n’avons pas de déclaration à faire sur cela. Par contre, si vous voulez séjourner ici, et si vous voulez des autres informations sur nos offres, nous sommes disposés à vous les donner ».
Nous réagissons pour dire que l’image et la sécurité de son hôtel sont en jeu, pourtant la dame avec fermeté et politesse assure qu’elle sera obligée de mettre fin à la conversation, parce qu’elle n’a plus rien à ajouter sur le sujet. Aussitôt dit, aussitôt fait : fin de la conversation.

Au même moment, à Abidjan, un reporter parti rencontrer l’ambassadeur d’Espagne à Abidjan, a rapporté ceci à la rédaction : « Je sors à l’instant de l’Ambassade de l’Espagne. La Secrétaire de l’Ambassadeur, après m’avoir écouté attentivement, a laissé entendre que l’Ambassadeur et le Consul sont en réunion à l’extérieur. Je reviendrai, ou bien je vais guetter les entrées et sorties en restant sur place, puisqu’au téléphone, je ne peux pas obtenir d’informations ».
Touré Moussa, proche conseiller et collaborateur de Guillaume Soro, aux côtés de qui il se trouve en Espagne, a publié une copie de la facture d’hôtel de Guillaume Soro pour confirmer le séjour de son patron dans l’hôtel. Il a ajouté ce commentaire : « Suite au scandale de la tentative d’arrestation avortée de Soro Guillaume en Espagne, le RHDP pour couvrir sa honte fait écrire qu’il y a des doutes sur la réalité de cette affaire. Voici la facture du séjour de Soro à Barcelone à l’hôtel El Palace ».
Quelques jours plutôt , en situant les faits à Madrid au lieu de Barcelone, Touré Moussa avait contribué à alimenter les doutes, tout comme le fait que Guillaume Soro ait affirmé que les faits se sont déroulés 48 heures avant le moment de leur révélation, alors que le reste de son récit, ainsi que la copie de la facture publiée, montre que l’incident s’est déroulé 96 heures plutôt, soit quatre jours avant, et non deux jours avant.
Au niveau des autorités à Abidjan, la tendance actuelle consiste à laisser entendre qu’il s’agit d’une fausse information, et de faits imaginaires comme l’a laissé déjà entendre Touré Moussa. Aucune réaction officielle n’est encore à l’ordre du jour au moment où nous bouclons cet article, malgré l’annonce d’une conférence de presse du ministre en charge de la sécurité et tutelle de la police et d’interpol. Cette conférence de presse devant porter sur les conséquences de la pluie, a été d’ailleurs reportée jusqu’à nouvel ordre.
Nos tentatives de joindre Interpol Lyon, et plusieurs autres interlocuteurs se poursuivent, en vue de parvenir à établir le mode opératoire de la tentative d’arrestation; et d’établir les commanditaires, ainsi que les circonstances ayant pu favoriser l’accès à la chambre d’un client d’un hôtel de référence nuitamment, aux environs de trois heures du matin, par des policiers repartis après avoir été rabroués , selon lui, par Guillaume Soro, qui leur aurait demandé s’ils pouvaient traiter de cette manière, Emilio Zapatero, du nom d’un ex Premier ministre du gouvernement espagnol.
Cette situation est qualifiée par de nombreux des observateurs, comme préoccupante et grave pour l’image de la police espagnole et de l’hôtel où a séjourné Guillaume Soro, indépendamment des allusions à la responsabilité d’Abidjan, faites par Guillaume Soro qui a pris soin d’ajouter qu’il n’avait pas toutes les preuves pour étayer ses soupçons.

C’est le Samedi 12 octobre 2019 au cours d’une rencontre avec ses partisans à Valence, que Guillaume Soro a affirmé avoir échappé en Espagne à une arrestation-humiliation dans la nuit du lundi 7 octobre 2019 au mardi 8 octobre 2019 aux environs de 3 heures du matin, de la part de policiers disant être venus au nom de Interpol.
Il a ajouté avoir appelé un contact à Interpol Lyon qui a dit que la police des polices n’était pas concernée. L’ex Président de l’Assemblée nationale, a précisé avoir écrit à l’ambassadeur d’Espagne en Côte d’Ivoire pour protester. Celui-ci aurait en retour affirmé qu’il n’y avait a sa connaissance aucune procédure le concernant, pouvant justifier cette tentative d’arrestation à une heure pareille.
Sur sa lancée, l’ex chef du parlement ivoirien, et actuel Président du Comité politique, qui regroupe ses partisans, a laissé entendre qu’il pourrait s’agir d’une collusion entre Interpol Côte d’Ivoire et Interpol Espagne. Terminant, il a promis que l’affaire ne resterait pas sans suite, car il devait porter plainte.

Following our request to know more about Guillaume Soro’s revelations, the lady presented as the hotel’s communication manager in a previous call, replied: “Sir, we are a private establishment. Our clients are private individuals, and we cannot tell you who has or has not stayed here.
We insist that Mr. Soro’s entourage published a copy of an invoice attributed to the hotel le Palace in Barcelona, to attest to his stay, but the lady persists and signs: “We have no statement to make on this. However, if you want to stay here, and if you want more information about our offers, we are willing to give it to you.
We react to say that the image and safety of her hotel are at stake, yet the lady with firmness and politeness ensures that she will be forced to end the conversation, because she has nothing more to add on the subject. Immediately said, immediately done: end of the conversation.

At the same time, in Abidjan, a reporter who went to meet the Spanish ambassador in Abidjan reported to the editorial staff: “I am just leaving the Spanish Embassy. The Ambassador’s Secretary, after listening carefully to me, suggested that the Ambassador and the Consul are in an external meeting. I will come back, or I will watch for entries and exits while staying on the spot, since I can’t get information over the phone.
Touré Moussa, a close advisor and collaborator of Guillaume Soro, with whom he is in Spain, published a copy of Guillaume Soro’s hotel bill to confirm his boss’ stay in the hotel. He added this comment: “Following the scandal of Soro Guillaume’s abortive attempted arrest in Spain, the RHDP to cover his shame has written that there are doubts about the reality of this case. This is the invoice for Soro’s stay in Barcelona at the El Palace Hotel.
A few days earlier, by locating the facts in Madrid instead of Barcelona, Touré Moussa had contributed to fuelling doubts, as had the fact that Guillaume Soro claimed that the facts took place 48 hours before the time of their revelation, while the rest of his account, as well as the copy of the published invoice, shows that the incident took place 96 hours earlier, four days earlier, and not two days earlier.
At the level of the authorities in Abidjan, the current trend is to suggest that this is false information, and imaginary facts as Toure Moussa has already suggested. No official reaction is yet on the agenda at the time of writing, despite the announcement of a press conference by the Minister for Security and Police and Interpol. This press conference, which will focus on the consequences of the rain, has been postponed until further notice.
Our attempts to contact Interpol Lyon, and several other interlocutors, are continuing with a view to establishing the modus operandi of the attempted arrest; and to establish the sponsors, as well as the circumstances that may have favoured access to the room of a guest of a reference hotel at night, around three in the morning, by police officers who left after being rebuked, according to him, by Guillaume Soro, who asked them if they could treat Emilio Zapatero, the name of a former Prime Minister of the Spanish Government in this way.
This situation is described by many observers as worrying and serious for the image of the Spanish police and the hotel where Guillaume Soro stayed, regardless of the references to Abidjan’s responsibility made by Guillaume Soro, who was careful to add that he did not have all the evidence to support his suspicions.

It was on Saturday, October 12, 2019, during a meeting with his supporters in Valencia, that Guillaume Soro claimed to have escaped arrest and humiliation in Spain on the night of Monday, October 7, 2019 to Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at around 3 a.m., from police officers claiming to have come on behalf of Interpol.
He added that he had called a contact at Interpol Lyon who said that the police were not involved. The former President of the National Assembly said he had written to the Spanish ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire to protest. In return, he allegedly stated that there were no proceedings known to him concerning him that could justify this attempted arrest at this time.
